We were delighted to have a special visit at the academy yesterday from Charlie Taylor, Chair of the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales. He came along to meet our students and staff and find out more about young people’s experiences in alternative provision. He spoke with students, visited classrooms, met with OA leaders and saw learning in action in the academy.
All the academy staff were so proud of our students – Charlie Taylor spoke of how impressed he was with the learning he saw going on in the academy during his visit and how engaged students were in their projects.
He was particularly interested in hearing from Olive Academies leaders about how we are developing expeditionary learning at the academy and the ambitious curriculum we are delivering for our students.
Mark Vickers, Chief Executive, Olive Academies said, “Charlie’s visit gave our students and staff the opportunity to show the progress, commitment, hard work and determination which can be seen in our academies on a daily basis.”
We are always keen to share the good work that goes on at our academy. Charlie Taylor’s visit was encouraging for all; his feedback was positive and shows how we are all working together to give our students the best possible opportunities to succeed and fulfil their ambitions.
