We encourage all our students to take pride in their achievements and recognise their personal learning journey.
Outcomes for students 2021/22
Summer 2022 was the first time many of our students had taken formal exams due to the COVID pandemic. We were extremely proud of how all our students rose to this challenge and completed a variety of exams including GCSEs, BTEC and Functional Skills. All our students achieved a qualification and over half achieved an English and Maths GCSE. Given the difficult journey that many of our students have had in formal education we are delighted with their achievements.
And most important of all, all our year 11s have moved onto post 16 study, be that sixth form college, an apprenticeship or part-time work alongside a college course. They are doing courses which vary from animal care to business administration, from motor vehicle maintenance to accountancy – we will be following their progress and supporting them all the way!
Statement for 2020/2021
Once again we have been beyond proud of our year 11 students in their achievements at GCSE, functional skills and vocational subjects. We are delighted that all 23 of our year 11 students have confirmed college or training places for 2021/2022.
Statement for 2019/2020
During a difficult year we were really proud of our students’ achievements in GCSEs, functional skills and vocational subjects.
Olive Academy staff also worked hard to support our Year 11s in preparing for their next destinations, be it further education or training or apprenticeships.
Statement for 2018/2019
Olive AP Academy – Thurrock performed way above national averages for alternative provision schools and pupil referral units in this year’s exams. This year’s results show that the children and young people we work with are leaving us with the qualifications they need to fulfil their ambitions and go on to apprenticeships and further education.
Mark Vickers, Chief Executive, Olive Academies said, “It is really encouraging to see that so many of our young people are now leaving us with a range of GCSE qualifications that they would never have thought possible a year or two ago. This is only the start of our journey and I expect considerable continued improvements. We are determined that every young person we work with gain the qualifications and grades they want and so urgently need to transform their lives.”
