Our academy community marked Holocaust Memorial Day with a special assembly for all students, led by Protection Approaches – a charity which works with schools to prevent prejudice and identity-based violence. This year will be a major anniversary marking 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz.
The assembly was based on the Holocaust Memorial Day theme ‘Stand Together’. The assembly looked at stories of perpetrators, victims and rescuers from the Holocaust as well as more contemporary examples.
We encourage our students and whole academy community to stand with those in need in their own schools and local communities. Our academy recognises how important it is that our young people have the skills and confidence to reject all forms of prejudice.
