A welcome to Olive AP Academy - Thurrock from Anna Timms, Head of Academy
Olive AP Academy – Thurrock (OA-Th) is an academy where students are able to grow and develop. We strive to ensure success for all our learners academically, socially and morally.
We are a ‘family’ with high standards for all members of our community where respect is at the heart of all that we do.
It is an exciting time for OA-Th having been graded as ‘Good’ at our last Ofsted inspection in December 2018, and with our fantastic new building and facilities, I am confident that we can achieve great things. I want OA-Th to be part of the local community; an inclusive academy which will allow children to develop the skills they need to enjoy learning and give our pupils the confidence and resilience to achieve success.
We believe in the Olive Way and our core values are:
Ambition : All challenges can be overcome and education is an important lifelong journey.
Reflection: Learning from experiences and developing a capacity to improve further.
Determination: Not giving up on those who have not experienced success.
Conviction: Everyone has the capacity to reach their potential.
At OA-Th we have the conviction that all our students have the capacity to reach their potential and are challenged to have the ambition to be the very best they can be in all aspects of their life. They are supported to reflect on their experiences to further improve and to have the determination to develop the resilience they need as they prepare for adult life.
Our broad and balanced curriculum underpins our ethos of creativity, innovation and mastering of the basics; reading, writing, communicating and mathematics.
I am extremely proud to be part of such a positive and aspirational academy community.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at anna.timms@oliveacademies.org.uk if you would like to visit our academy or need any further information about Olive AP Academy – Thurrock.
