Olive AP Academy – Thurrock
Our alternative provision academy provides a broad curriculum to a diverse group of young people. We moved into our brand new academy building in Tilbury in July 2017. We cater for young people and children who have experienced difficulty in learning for a variety of reasons. We also offer support to students in mainstream schools who are experiencing difficulties and are at risk of exclusion.
Our principal aim is to encourage pupils to develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives. Olive Academies provides enriching opportunities for young people who have been unable to succeed in their current educational setting and supports their return to mainstream school.
Collette Hunnisett is our headteacher at Olive AP Academy – Thurrock. She leads an experienced team who support our students to reach their full potential. Please read our Headteacher’s Welcome to find out more.
Our academy will be open to pupils from Wednesday 6 January onwards. A programme of onsite and remote learning is in place for pupils and we are in touch directly with each parent/carer about this.
Please check the headteacher letters on our news page for the latest information for parents and carers. For information on the onsite coronavirus testing programme and further guidance please visit our COVID-19 page.
