Olive AP Academy – Thurrock

Our alternative provision academy provides a broad curriculum to a diverse group of young people. We moved into our brand new academy building in Tilbury in July 2017. We cater for young people and children who have experienced difficulty in learning for a variety of reasons. We also offer support to students in mainstream schools who are experiencing difficulties and are at risk of exclusion.

Our principal aim is to encourage pupils to develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives. Olive Academies provides enriching opportunities for young people who have been unable to succeed in their current educational setting and supports their return to mainstream school.

Collette Hunnisett is our headteacher at Olive AP Academy – Thurrock. She leads an experienced team who support our students to reach their full potential. Please read our Headteacher’s Welcome to find out more.

We update our website regularly with the latest advice about Coronavirus. Please check our news page for copies of all letters sent to parents/ carers.

To help with learning at home, we have provided each student with a plan and resources – academy staff will talk to each student regularly about their work and offer help as needed. The government are also providing lots of information for parents and carers supporting children to learn at home at the moment.  Here is a link to this latest government guidance.
